The Darien Police Department received a report at approximately 11 p.m. on Nov. 5, of an erratic driver who entered Tilley Pond Park and drove through the grass, leaving several spots of damage.
Police said that when officers arrived at the park, the vehicle had already left, prompting an investigation. It was determined that the driver had driven into the park from the north entrance, across the grass, and over two tree stumps before leaving the area.
According to police, the caller who alerted investigators said that the vehicle was a Lexus SUV, and a possible license plate number was provided. The plate was checked, but it didn’t match any local vehicle. The incident remains under investigation.
